    ENGLISH PROGRAMS

    • General Purpose Program (English)

    The General Purpose Program (GPP) is for complete beginners through advanced students who need English for everyday and social purposes. Overall, there are 5 GPP courses. Each course consists of 192 lessons. Students in the GPP are continuously offered opportunities to actively use the target language. The focus of instruction is on developing listening and speaking skills. This program also provides students with reading and writing practice, as needed. Immersion courses (intensive learning) are also available for visitors or corporate employees with a short term goal.

    • Accelerated Professional Program (English)

    The Accelerated Professional Program (APP) is for complete beginners through advanced students who need to learn English for business purposes. Overall, there are 5 APP courses. Each course consists of 192 lessons. Students in the APP study basic and advanced grammar and are provided opportunities to practice their language skills in real-world situations. While the focus of instruction is on actively developing listening and speaking skills, students may also spend time developing their writing and reading skills by drafting resumes and emails or as needed.

    • Secondary English Program

    The Secondary English Program is designed to meet the social and academic language needs of students who are in middle or high school, and it consist of 7 courses, one for each grade level. The duration of each course varies, and can continue for up to 12 months. Students receive the training and support necessary to succeed in the school system. The emphasis of each course is on actively developing speaking and listening skills, but students are also offered comprehensive opportunities to develop proficiency in both reading and writing, depending on their goals. The curriculum was derived directly from the Common Core State Standards created by the National Governors Association Center for Best Practices and the Council of Chief State School Officers.

    • Childhood English Program

    The Childhood English Program is designed to meet the social and academic language needs of students who are in kindergarten through fifth grade, and it consists of 6 courses, one for each grade level. The duration of each course varies according to the goals of individual students, and it can continue for up to 12 months. All courses embody the inlingua method with its emphasis on actively developing speaking and listening skills. Students are also provided with comprehensive opportunities to develop proficiency in both reading and writing. The curriculum was derived directly from the Common Core State Standards created by the National Governors Association Center for Best Practices and the Council of Chief State School Officers.

    PREPARATION/TUTORING PROGRAMS

    • Test of English as a Foreign Language

    The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) Preparation Program is for high intermediate students who need English for academic purposes. This course targets reading and listening comprehension, proficiency in speaking and writing, and test taking strategies that will help students achieve a high score on the TOEFL exam. Learners who enroll in this program will have the opportunity to take several practice exams. By the end of the course, they will achieve the English language competence needed to succeed academically and to improve their TOEFL exam scores.

    • Test of English for International Communication

    The Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) Preparation Program is for high intermediate students who need English for business purposes. This course targets reading and listening comprehension, proficiency in speaking and writing, as well as test taking strategies that will help students achieve a high score on the TOEIC exam. Learners who enroll in this program will have the opportunity to take several practice exams. By the end of their course, they will achieve the English language competence needed to improve their scores on the TOEIC exam and they will be able to successfully communicate in professional situations.

There are 5 courses per language. Each course consists of 192 lessons. Students who enroll in the GPP for Foreign Languages may range from complete beginners to advanced speakers. The focus of instruction is on developing listening and speaking skills, and students are continuously offered opportunities to actively use the target language throughout their program. These programs also provide students with reading and writing practice, as needed.
